Tamil Nadu Launches Auto-Pay Facility for Electricity Bill Payments
The Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) has introduced a new auto-pay facility that allows electricity consumers to pay their power bills automatically through an online system.
The initiative aims to simplify electricity bill payments and help consumers avoid late payment penalties by enabling automatic deductions directly from their bank accounts.
Currently, electricity consumption for domestic users in Tamil Nadu is calculated once every two months, after which bills are generated based on power usage. To make the payment process easier and more convenient, TNPDCL has now launched the “E-Auto Pay” system.
Under this new facility, consumers can register online and authorize automatic bill payments without having to manually pay every billing cycle.
How to Activate TNPDCL Auto-Pay
Consumers can activate the service by visiting:

Users need to:
- Register their electricity connection number
- Link bank account details or debit/credit card information
- Enable the “E-Auto Pay” option
Once activated, the electricity bill amount will automatically be deducted from the customer’s registered bank account after bill generation.
Officials stated that the payment will usually be processed automatically on the 10th day from the date of meter reading and bill calculation.
