The Indian Weather Research Centre has estimated that there are prospects of scorching heat in the northern districts of Tamil Nadu. The intensive rains from the southwest monsoon rainy season for the last 15 days has abated.

The 2nd active spell in west coast are going to start today. The hot spot seems to Goa, Karnataka and Kerala this time with Goa to Kozhikode district with areas such as Mangalore - Udupi - Chikmagalur, Kodagu, Kozhikode.

Light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are likely to continue over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala till June 21. Thereafter, intensity will decrease on June 22 and June 23.
