Southern Railway announcement: Special fare train Kollam-Chennai Central!
The special fare trains on the Kollam-Chennai Central will start from Kollam at 3.00 PM on 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th December and on 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th January and reach Chennai Central the next day at 9.50 AM.

Steep rise in prices of food items in Railway Catering from April!
The price of a cup of tea in the Rajdhani, Turantho, and Shatabdi superfast trains was Rs. 10. From now, the price is being revised per cup of tea: Rs. 20 in the 2nd class A/C and Rs. 15 in the sleeper-class!

On 16th November, suburban trains to Chengalpet to be cancelled partially

Tirunelveli to Chennai Tambaram a special train (82604) on the 8th and 29th of December and Chennai Central to Sivamuka town a special train (80622) will operate on the 12th and 19th of December.
