Work to be done on Kandaleru Poondi Canal
The Kandaleru Poondi Canal is getting a much needed makeover. The canal transports water from the river Krishna from Andhra Pradesh, all the way to Chennai. The repair work will make the water flow faster and prevent silt build up.

Government buses to get CCTV cameras
Tamil Nadu Transport Minister P. Thangamani announced that the government is considering installing CC TV camera in all its buses. According to the statement, the project will take place in a phased manner. The financial viability of the initiative has to be taken into consideration.

Congestion on roads
Not many roads depict commuter chaos more than NSC Bose Road. Apart from the heavy traffic created by the vehicles, there is about one lakh footfalls on this road each and every day. There are pedestrians, two wheeler riders, vehicles parked and vendors on this road during the peak hours.
