Chennai Rains Update - Stratiform Precipitation (Light drizzle type rains) to continue in Chennai
It was 3.30 am in the morning when i started tracking the radar the intense storms moved into Pulicat area and missed Chennai. As the main storms moved into the sea, it spread the stratiform clouds over Chennai.

Chennai city reaches its South West Monsoon quota with excess rains in September
Was not well, hence fell in deep sleep wen rains started yesterday after tracking them till it reached Chennai. Yesterday there was abundant CAPE (3500 j/kg) and perfect convergence of storms coupled with urban.

Chennai Meteorological Centre: Prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu in next 2 days
The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are high prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu in the next 2 days.A cyclonic format has developed over the central-west part of Bay of Bengal. Because of this, it has rained.

Southwest monsoon 5 percent less than average this year
A recent press release from the Chennai Meteorological Centre informs that the depression which had formed over the Bay of Bengal has weakened in intensity, However, there may be rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due.

South West Monsoon rains to withdraw
South West Monsoon rains for the Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha States began last 1st June.

Rains expected today in Chennai and some places of Tamil Nadu
Currently the South West Monsoon rains are prevailing in Tamil Nadu. At this juncture a well marked low pressure which had centered over northwest Bay of Bengal and system is likely to move west-northwestwards and cross the West Bengal coast.

Showers expected in the northern parts of Tamil Nadu

Prospects of rain in North Tamil Nadu due to depression formation
Currently, it is the southwest monsoon rainy season in Tamil Nadu. The officials of the meteorological centre informed that there are prospects of a depression zone to be formed over the ay of Bengal near Andhra.
