Chennai weather to remain dry and warm, humidity to persist
From the past one week, dry weather remained prevalent over the city of Chennai. Prior to this episode, heavy rains were recorded over the region for a couple of days in the wake of Cyclone Ockhi.

Chennai & TN ground water level update (TN Weatherman)
Good improvement is seen in all 15 zones of Chennai. Tamil Nadu too most of the districts the levels have improved.

Chennai Water Supply Lakes levels - 50% storage available at present
Out of the total capacity of 12714 mcft (12.7 tmc), the present storage of all 5 lakes comes to 6229 mcft (6.2 tmc). Last year it was just 1602 mcft (1.6 tmc). We have over 5 times the storage compared to last year.

Here is why deep depression in Bay is unlikely to intensify into a cyclone
The period between October to December is considered to be the cyclone season for Indian seas that include Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. This year, we did not see any cyclone during October and first half of November.

South TN rains continue Karupandhi - Kadyanallur got very heavy rains - More rains on daily basis to happen in Kanyakumari, Nellai, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi and Theni districts in coming days.
