Vallur Thermal Power Station � Power Generation Down
A 1000 MW power plant has been installed at Vallur near Ponneri in Thiruvallur district by NTPC & TANGEDCO. The 2nd unit of 500 MW was shut down due to some technical problems.

1680 MW shortage of Power in Tamil Nadu due to outage of 5 Power Stations � Stpes taken to ensure smooth Parliamentary Elections
4 units from Mettur & North Chennai and 1 unit from Neiveli are down and there is a shortfall of 1680 MW of power.
