In Chennai city, 75% of biomedical waste strewn all over
60 tonnes of toxic biomedical wastes are being generated per day in Chennai. 25% of biomedical waste has been sent for safe disposal by the hospitals and labs. 75% of the biomedical waste is strewn in and around Chennai.

Chennai Corporation to buy 13000 garbage containers driven by battery vehicles
Battery-operated vehicles are coming to the streets and roads collecting garbage from the individual residences. Chennai Metro City Corporation has planned to procure 13000 garbage containers for the above battery-driven vehicles.

Prospects for heavy rains in 6 districts!
The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for mild rains in next 24 hours in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the southeast Bay of Bengal.
