Renovation and facelift for Kovalam beach: under Blue Flag programme!
The Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for the environment, K. C. Karuppannan informed in the Legislative Assembly that Kovalam beach has been chosen to be developed as per the Blue Flag Beach Programme.

Electric train services (Beach - Chengalpattu) cancelled half-way!
As scheduled maintenance work is in progress in the Chengalpattu Railway Workshop, the suburban electric train services from Chennai Beach to Chengalpattu have been cancelled for half-the-way.

Summer vacation for Government schools from 21st April!
It is informed on behalf of the TN Government School Education Board that the summer vacation for all government schools will commence from 21st April. The schools are scheduled to reopen during the 1st week of June.

Renovation project of 9 overhead Railway Stations!
In the overhead rail route of MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System) between Chennai Beach and Velacherry, 9 railway stations are to be fully renovated at a cost of Rs. 10 Crores.
