Onam is a government holiday in Chennai
The Tamil Nadu government has announced that Sept. 14 will be a local holiday in Chennai district on account of Onam.In an official statement, the district collector said, The holiday had been declared as per the orders of the government.

Research vessel Sagarnidhi to search missing AN32
Indian Air Force transport aircraft AN32 went missing along with 29 crew aboard on July 22. Massive search efforts have so far yielded no trace of the aircraft and the search gradually moved underwater to scan the sea bed.
