On occasion of Pongal festival, special buses will depart from 6 bus terminuses including Koyambedu bus terminus from 11th January to 13 January.

15000 police personnel deployed for Kaanum Pongal
On occasion of Kaanum Pongal, 15000 police personnel will be deployed for security as thousands are expected to throng different of parts of Chennai. Security measures are already in place and the whole coastline.

Bus Tickets booked online or using Redbus wont be valid for Pongal holidays
All bus tickets booked either online or through the Redbus app will not be valid during the Pongal holiday travelling.

Pongal back in the list of central government compulsory holidays
The information was released yesterday (Monday, 9th January) that Pongal festival is being removed from the list of public holidays for the year 2017.
