The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the thermal convection phenomenon.

Temperature in Chennai city would be lowered by the easterlies
The news that has come out now is southern parts of Tamil Nadu and other western interior districts would soon have thunderstorm. This thunderstorm might be because of shift of upper air cyclonic circulations into Arabian Sea and change in the wind patterns.

A trough which was extending from Central parts to Coastal Karnataka has further moved westwards and has developed a low-level circulation over Marathwada and adjoining Telangana region.

Heat intensity will be higher in the districts
The Chennai Meteorological Centre has warned that the intensity of heat will be higher in the districts of Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Trichy, Parambalur, and Karur and the temperature may touch 104 Degrees Fahrenheit.
