The North-East monsoon would be ending on Tuesday, 31st December. Weather experts that this NE monsoon would continue in the early morning on 2nd January 2020 as the easterlies are still favourable.

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for mild rains in next 24 hours in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the southeast Bay of Bengal.
