10 percent discount on Rail Ticket Fares
It has been announced that a 10 percent discount will be offered for reserved berths/seats which are vacant when the train starts.

POS machines at 70 suburban stations in Chennai
With effect from 1st January 2017, Ministry of Railways has provided a discount of 0.5% for season tickets being purchased through POS machines over suburban sections. This will be beneficial to the passengers.

Provision of discount of 0.5% on booking of Season Tickets
Ministry of Railways have decided that 0.5% discount in the basic fare of First class/Second class Season tickets (Monthly, quarterly, Half yearly, yearly) over suburban section shall be granted in case the payment,

Installation of PoS Machines at counters: Southern Railway
As directed by the Ministry of Railways, Southern Railway has installed additional PoS machines in 22 of its Passenger Reservation Centres spread over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. These 22 centres which have the highest number.

0.5 percent discount on card payments for suburban railway ticket bookings
In order to abolish black money, Prime Minister Narendra Modi demonetized the 500 and 1000 rupee notes. Because of this Rs 14 Lakhs Crores was deposited in the banks. The Reserve Bank of India was not able to print.
