12-car EMU trains from next year
It is likely that the Chennai division of Southern Railways will kick-start 12-car electrical multiple unit trains during the start of next year.

Line Block/Power Block is permitted in Tambaram Yard for construction of pedestrian subway using precast reinforced Concrete Cement boxes at Km 29/19-21 in lieu of Level Crossing No.30 and at Perungulathur Station.
