12,000 police personnel to oversea Ganesh idol immersion
On the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha idols have been instilled in 2400 places for worship with police security. 12,000 police have been deployed to maintain smooth flow of traffic and to ensure public safety.

Solar plant made compulsory for all new multistorey buildings in Tamil Nadu
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday in the assembly stated that the the Tamil Nadu government has decided to make it mandatory for all new multistorey (more than four floors) buildings in the state to have solar power generation facility.
