No new Metro lines in more than a year
The Chennai Metro Rail Limited, or CRML, has not opened up new lines for more than a year ago, since the opening of the Koyambedu - Alandur line. Reason being, trains are ready but the lines are not.

Incentives for agriculture and farming announced in Assembly
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa announced on Wednesday that the State government will implement a new scheme to produce vegetables and fruits without residue of pesticides, by employing integrated pest management techniques.

Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao will have additional charge as Tamil Nadu Governor
The tenure of the present governor of Tamil Nadu. Mr. Rosaiah, gets over today (Wednesday, 31st August). The president Pranab Mukherji has issued an order for the appointment of the new governor.

Corrections in the voters list to start tomorrow - special camps on 11th and 25th September
The corrections to be made in the voters list commences tomorrow (Thursday, 1st September) and will continue till 30th September. A draft voters list will be released tomorrow. Special camps will be organised on 11th and 25th September.

Revision of toll rates from midnight on Wednesday
Toll rates will be revised from midnight on Wednesday. The new rates will apply to 22 plazas across the State on the 9 National Highways. There are a total of 43 plazas in the State covering around 2,300 km of road length.

Amma Environmental Park to be set up at Tondiarpet
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has announced an Amma Environment Park to be set up at Tondiarpet. The announcement comes a day after she announced Amma parks and Amma gyms.

Amma Park and Amma Gyms in villages
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced in the Legislative Assembly Session yesterday (Monday, 29th August) that 500 Amma Parks and 500 Amma Gyms (Physical Exercise centre) will be set up in villages.

Tatkal registration facility introduced in Tamil Nadu Express Buses
