Salesmen of 2000 ration shops have been trained with regard to smart cards
Smart cards would replace the existing book-type family cards when the validity of the cards expired by the year end. Printing of smart cards would begin soon after creation of new family card database based on information collected.

Research vessel Sagarnidhi to search missing AN32
Indian Air Force transport aircraft AN32 went missing along with 29 crew aboard on July 22. Massive search efforts have so far yielded no trace of the aircraft and the search gradually moved underwater to scan the sea bed.
