Though various road developments like widening of roads and flyovers were built, the accidents rates are not coming down. In 2015, Tamil Nadu registered a total of 69,059 accidents.

Vegetable prices down owing to good harvest
A good harvest has brought down the prices of vegetable and fruits. Tomatoes now cost as low as Rs. 15 per kg. Cold crops such as guavas are now being sold for Rs 40 per kg at the Koyambedu wholesale market.
