3 more new Metro Rail corridors

The newly introduced metro rail services between Koyambedu and Alandur is now fully functional and Chennaites are using these services regularly.
Plans are on to set up metro rail services in two routes: first route covering 23.05 km distance between Vannarapettai and Chennai Airport, and second route covering 22.50 km covering Chennai Central and St. Thomas Mount.
The dream project of Chennai public, Chennai Metro Rail, was inaugurated last June by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and has been successfully functioning in the section from Koyambedu & Alandur.
In the first route of Chennai metro rail, 11 underground railway stations are getting set up between Vannarapettai and Saidapet, and 5 overhead stations between Chinnamalai and Chennai Airport.
The High-level Committee of Recruitment Analysis Council is planning to organize a National Recruitment Plan-2016 (NRP 16) at SRM University, Chennai on 31st July and 01st August, 2015.
