Chennai Metro Rail fares down

Following the lots of complaints that the Chennai Metro Rails fares are rather high, a recent announcement mentions the fares are down by about Rs. 10.
The 1st Phase of the Chennai Metro Rail project was to cover 45 km. However, presently, the Metro rails cover the distance of 23 km from the Aiport to Washermanpet and the 22 km distance between Chennai Central Railway Station to St. Thomas Mount.
In this situation, a large number of complaints indicated that the Chennai Metro Rail fares are rather on the higher sid. Subsequently, a recent announcement has been made by the Chennai Metro Rail authorities.
