Direct metro train between Central station and Airport

The underground section of the Chennai Metro Rail service between the Central Station and the Nehru Park is scheduled to commence from February 2018.
The test-runs are scheduled during January.
Based on the analytical review/report of the officials after the test-runs, the public service is slated to start in February.
Once the section is pressed into service, the passengers can travel from the central station to the Airport in a single train journey.
The officials are scheduled to conduct the review of the tasks completed from January. If everything turns out Ok, it is very likely that the public underground Metro service between Saidapet and Teynampet DMS may also commence in February.
