Consolidated compilation of all voters list from all the states

The information details of all the voters in the country in all the states have been consolidated and compiled as a single source of information under ‘ ERONet’ under the Election Commission’s Single Information Centre Centre. With this, the facility to make additions/deletions/corrections in the voters list in any state.
An official from the Department of Elections explained that when an individual moves from one state another, in order to include the name in the voters` list, he/she has to get the form for this purpose and fill up the data required in part 4. In this part, the individuals need to furnish data such as Voter card number and address.
Once this is furnished, the officer will arrange to include the name and also send the details given in Part 4 of the form to the relevant officer in the previous state. This will be sent by post or as email.
After this, the official who received this information will verify the other data and remove the name from the voters` list after a field-check.
Under the presently integrated compilation of voters list data, once a voter`s name is added in the new state/place, this information will be immediately available to the voter registration office in the old state. So, the name can be easily removed,
As the complete list of voters all over the country is consolidated, the data pertaining to voters with double registration will be easily available. So, the duplication can be corrected and the list will be proper.
