Twitter has now enhanced the Graphics Interchange Format, or the GIFs on its platform. GIFs were introduced on Twitter in 2014. With the new enhancement, Twitter hopes to makes itself more immersive and fun.

Now, users can upload larger GIF files up to 15 MB. Previously, the size allowed was 5 MB. However, this new feature can be used only on the web version of the platform. It does not apply to mobile apps and TweetDeck.

Experts feel that this is a good move to make Twitter more popular. It has been facing stiff competition from fun websites such as 9GAG, Reddit, Imgur, Bored Panda and more, the adoption roofs have increased significantly.

People are more inclined towards interactive content than just image sharing. GIFs are also more size-efficient than videos and serve the purpose to some extent. For instance, GIFs are the best when you have to show a movie clipping or a funny animation with your friend; small in size and serves the purpose as well.
