Porsche starts accepting bookings on entry level cars

Entry level sports cars from Porsche, the 718 Cayman and the 718 Boxster, are likely to be launched in India by next month. The company has started accepting bookings for both cars. Reports say that the the deliveries will begin by November month of this year.
Ex showroom, Mumbai prices are Rs. 80.13 lakh for the Porsche 718 Cayman and Rs. 83.95 lakh for the 718 Boxster. Both the cars will be powered by a downsized 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine instead of the 3.4-litre, six-cylinder engine which powers the current Cayman and Boxster models. The 2.0-litre engine will churn out a maximum power and torque output of 300hp and 380Nm respectively. The engine gets mated to a seven-speed automatic PDK gearbox. The top speed of the cars is 275kmph and can reach from 0-100kmph in just 5.1 seconds.
Both cars are available in two trim levels Standard and S. Standard features include ceramic brakes, bi-xenon headlamps with integrated four-point LED daytime running lights, electronically-folding exterior mirrors, sports seats, a Porsche 918-inspired sports steering wheel along with the Porsche Communication Management system. 718 Cayman will be getting an eight-speaker music system while the 718 Boxster will be offered only with six speakers.
