Has your mobile phone fallen down in the water?

There are many instances where an individual’s cell phone, purchased after a long selection process, trials, tribulations, and arranging funds, gets dropped in water and thus lost forever. On the other hand, there are instances where some individuals are lucky to retrieve the cell phones from the water and find it alive.
A recent survey indicates that around 20 percent of mobile phones are thrown in the dustbin after they had fallen in the water.
Here is some guidance on what all you should not do when your mobile has fallen in water:
Do not switch the mobile on. This may cause a low voltage problem on the motherboard. Do not press any of the buttons on the cell phone. This may also lead to problems.
Some people tend to try shaking the mobile under the reason that that water will get removed quickly. On the contrary, by shaking the cell, there are more possibilities water entering. This may cause damage to the circuitry. So, never shake the cell phone.
Avoid charging the mobile immediately after picking it up once it had fallen in the water. You may be under the impression that charging may help the phone back to normal operations. However, this is wrong, Please don’t do anything if the cell resumes operation after it is picked up from the water. And do not try to dismantle the cell and make any attempts to repair.
Here is some guidance what you should do:
Once you pick up the phone from water, remove the battery, SIM card, and the memory card and keep them apart. Keep the cell with its battery side touching the ground. Wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Do not indulge in blowing or removing water. Just keep the phone for the water to drain out and wait.
You may also use a gadget like a hair-dryer to clean the cell. This will evaporate the water in the cell.
You might have heard that keeping the cell in rice will make it ok. This is true.
If you find any problems on the screen after switching on or if there are any other problems, just keep it aside and try switching on after a gap of 3 days. If this also fails, there is no alternative except giving it for repair..
