Chennai Metro rail floats fresh tender

After the Gammon India-Mosmetrostroy JV contract was terminated last week, Metro rail on Tuesday called for a fresh tender to complete stalled work on underground tunnels and stations between Government Estate and Saidapet along Anna Salai.
While one contract will be for building tunnels and underground stations between Government Estate and Thousand Lights, the other is for work between DMS and Saidapet. Filled-up tender forms should be submitted before September 21.
The work is to be completed in 20 months from the date of award, says the tender notification, adding that it will be at the risk and cost of the terminated contractor. Work is expected to begin in January 2016.
