Healthy Food Recipes - Pepper Rasam

What you need:
  1. 1 big tomato (or 2 medium)
  2. I small lemon sized ball of tamarind
  3. 1 tsp whole peppercorns
  4. 1 tsp jeera
  5. 2 - 3 cloves garlic
  6. A pinch of haldi powder
  7. 1/2 tsp sambar powder
  8. A handful of curry leaves
  9. 1 tsp Oil/ ghee
  10. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1 dried red chilli broken in half
  12. Chopped dhania leaves
  13. Salt to taste.

Method:
  1. Chop tomato. 
  2. Soak tamarind in warm water and take out pulp.
  3. Coarsely grind garlic pods, pepper and jeera with a little water.
  4. Boil together tamarind, chopped tomato, haldi, ground paste, sambar powder, 1/2 of the curry leaves and salt. Add water. 
  5. Cook till raw smell goes away.
  6. Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves  and red chilli. 
  7. Garnish with chopped dhania leaves.
