Counselling for PG medical courses in deemed universities from tomorrow - 18th May

The counselling sessions for admissions to the medical postgraduate courses in 8 deemed universities are scheduled from tomorrow (Thursday, 18th May) to 20th May.

The annual fees for the medical postgraduate courses in these deemed universities have been fixed at the range from Rs. 3 Lakhs to Rs. 60 Lakhs.

When enquiring about this to the secretary of the student admission committee, he explained that the fees for the deemed univesities were not decided by the state government. The fees were decided by the respective university education fees committees.

The counselling session for the private medical colleges administration quota for the postgraduate medical courses is scheduled from 22nd May to 23rd May (till 11.00 AM).

After 2.00 PM on 23rd May, the counselling of admission to postgraduate dentistry (medical) courses for the vacant seats (2) in Tamil Nadu government dentistry college and the seats in Annamalai University postgraduate courses in dentistry.

Subsequently, the 2nd Phase of counselling for the 40 seats vacant in government medical colleges, and the government quota of seats in the private medical colleges and in Annamalai University is scheduled from 24th May to 27th May.

The Director of DME explained that the deemed universities have not allotted the 50 percent quota to be reserved for the state governments as per the court order, They have also gone to court. That case is still pending in the court. So, the counselling is being conducted for the seats available in 8 deemed universities. In case the court verdicts are clearing the 50 percent quota of seats for the state government, the scheduled counselling will be deemed as cancelled. A fresh counselling session will be held.
