Petrol price hiked by 1 paisa, diesel by 44 paise a litre

Petrol price was on Sunday hiked by 1 paisa per litre and diesel price increased by 44 paise per litre. Revised rates will take effect from midnight.
The hike announced by oil companies is excluding state levies. Rates will differ from state to state due to differential local sales tax or VAT rates.
After the price revision, a litre of petrol in Chennai will now cost Rs. 71.17 per litre and diesel will cost Rs. 60.71 per litre.
