The long waited TATA Tiago AMT enters Indian market

The long waited popular hatchback from TATA, the TATA Tiago AMT has now entered the Indian market for the rate Rs 5.39 lakh. TATA motors give it the name EasyShift AMT. The car offers automated manual transmission unit comprising XZA trim and gearbox. This is similar to AMT unit present in TATA Zest and TATA Nano AMT. The car is available at Tata showrooms all over India.
The AMT unit has 1.2 litre 3-cylinder Revotron petrol motor that is capable of producing 84 bhp at 6000 rpm and 114 Nm torque at 3500 rpm. The motor remains unchanged for the AMT unit, TATA announces. Launch timeline for Tiago diesel AMT is awaited still.
There are four gear positions with the TATA Tiago Easy Shift AMT which are Automatic, Neutral, Reverse and Manual. Sports and City are the two driving modes the car comes with, similar to manual version. It is possible to shift gears faster using manual versions. The car has in-built creep feature, thus letting the auto crawl immediately as the brake pedal is eased off, eliminating the need to accelerate. This make the car suitable for hill climbing which will start at include position.
