Airport for Sabarimala Swami Ayyappan Temple

Sabarimala Swami Ayyappan Temple is one of the famous temples in the world. Lakhs of devotees throng for the Mandala Pooja and Makaravilakku Pooja conducted there.
There was a long time demand for an airport in Sabarimala since lots of devotees visit this temple from other states as well as foreign countries.
At this juncture, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while speaking to the media at Pathanamthitta said: Since devotees come in large numbers to Sabarimala, we should make all necessary transport facilities for them. As a part of this, there was a long time demand for an airport. At this juncture, the central government has given approval to construct the airport at Siruvelli Estate which belongs to Kerala Government. In connection with this a study was made by a foreign company. Very soon the works related to the airport will begin. Since the central government has approved the airport, the Kerala Government will give all its assistance to build the airport.
