Lakshmi Menon in place of Shruthi

‘Poojai’ the movie starring Vishal and Shruthi Hassan in the lead roles is on the verge of completion. Amidst this, news was on that the actor wanted Shruthi to get paired with him in another film under his production and Suseendhran’s direction.
Contrary to these rumors, it is now said that Lakshmi Menon is roped to play the pair of Vishal instead of Shruthi Hassan. To note, Pandiya Naadu a 2013 super hit movie starring the same pair was directed by Suseendhran and it is his turn yet again.
In a recent interview, the actor said Shruthi was thought of for the role, but the idea was dropped as the new movie wouldn’t have much scope for the heroine, especially as the actor did not want to fit her in such a role after getting paired for a commercial flick like Poojai.
However, the case of Lakshmi Menon is different as she played a decent chemistry with him in Pandiya Naadu and this would be a winning combination again, the actor believes.
This film will be shot in Madurai backdrop and the heroine should understand Tamil well, says the director.
