Are you suffering with chronic low back pain? You may engage in physical activity or intense exercising for reducing the risk of chronic lower back pain, says a new review of earlier study.

Earlier, things were not clear about how far physical activity can stave off lower back pain or those without any back pain are prone to be more active, say researchers in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. To identify which of these will come first, data from over 36 studies were analyzed and 160,000 people were analyzed all of whom did not have back pain.

According to reviews of clinical trials, the intensity and recurrence of lower can pain can be reduced by exercising. In addition, the current review claims that one can prevent developing lower back pain by engaging in leisure time activity or current review, says the lead author Dr. Rhaman Shiri, a researcher in Finnish Institute of Occupational Health in Helsinki.

As a move to standardize the results obtained from various studies, Shiri and colleague involved in the assessment analyzed the effect and impact of work-related physical efforts like walking or climbing stairs, physical activity apart from sports or other sorts of intentional exercise. People who are engaged in such sort of physical activity for at least once or twice in a week for at least 30 to 60 minutes are called active.
