Paracetamol use during pregnancy increases asthma risk in baby

A recent survey has established that if pregnant women take an excess of paracetamol tablets, it may affect the child with asthma complaint.
The analysis was done after a survey was taken in mother-child health related information from Norway.
It was established that many children from 3 to 7 years of age had asthmatic complaints as their mothers had taken excess paracetamol tablets during pregnancy.
It was established that taking excess paracetamol during the pregnancy was the reason for 114500 children to suffer from asthma.This research was carried out by Britain`s Bristol University research team.
During the pregnancy stage, the pregnant women tend to take paracetamol tablets when they headache, fever or flu. This leads to 5.7 percent of the children in the age of 3 years and 5.1 percent from the children in the age of 7 years suffer from asthmatic complaints.
The research team has strong conviction that there is a direct link - cause 7 effect reaction between the pregnant women taking paracetamol tablets and their children suffering from asthma.
Though many researchers have been carried out earlier on the possible link between paracetamol & asthma, it is yet to be clearly established by the medical world.
However, the latest research team is of the view that this can be considered as a warning and necessary action taken.
