Improving lung health

How do you improve lung healthy naturally? First and foremost, quit smoking! Thats the worst thing you can do to your body, forget just the lungs. But what if you are not a smoker? Here are a few ways to make your lungs healthier. Follow these whether you smoke or not. 

Eat foods that are healthy for your lungs. Foods such as cruciferous vegetables, apples, fish, different beans, nuts and carrots come highly recommended. Make sure you drink lots of water that will help your body naturally detoxify.

Avoid dairy. Drink green tea instead. Drinking green tea before going to bed will help release toxins into your intestines and result in healthy bowel movement. 

Drink a glass of lime juice before breakfast. Squeeze half a lime in hot water and consume on an empty stomach. Between breakfast and lunch, drink carrot juice. This will help alkalise your body for a detox. 

Drink juice made of potassium rich foods along with your lunch. Oranges, chikoo, banana, sweet potato, carrots, tomatoes, spinach, apricots, figs, dates and berries are all rich in potassium. Add ginger in your juices and your tea. Ginger makes you sweat - another way to release toxins. 

Practise deep breathing daily. Ding pranayama for half hour every day will open out your lungs. Look at doing more yoga everyday
