Constipation or prickly bowel movement is an illness that mostly every one of us have come across at some point or the other. It is one of the most general digestive disorders. It is very common among children and older people. It is notorious when bowel movements are tough, hard, or painful. Constipation may bring in abdominal pain and swelling in some people. Most instances of constipation are because of less fibre diet.

Diet Tips for Constipation Patients:

  • If your constipation is related to diet, then just inclusion of fibre-rich foods and non-dehydrated liquids are your top way of treatment. You should consume 6 to 8 glasses of water daily to boost a healthy bowel.
  • To get an instant remedy, take eight ounce of milk mixed with about three ounces of prune juice and a few drops of licorice extract and drink this mix in morning in empty stomach.
  • Drink warm water mixed with 1 teaspoon of honey and half a lemon juice every morning on an empty stomach for about two to three times a day.
  • Drink one litre of warm water and give a walk around for few minutes immediately once you wake up early in the morning.
  • In a cup of milk add 10-12 big raisins and bring to boil.  First eat the raisins then drink the milk.
  • Add 2 spoons of husk seed in a half cup of hot milk and drink directly.
  • Blend 1/4 spoon of dry ginger powder with a pinch of asafoetida and black salt in a little warm water and drink it.
  • Fresh Orange juice and Pears juice is very good for constipation patient.
  • Eat Guava along with the seeds, because it offers fibre to the diet and aids in the usual clearing of the bowels. Consume at least two guavas every day.
  • Eat an apple an hour after a meal to avert constipation. Apple juice and apple cider are an innate laxatives for many people. Drink it.
  • Try consuming two ripe bananas amid meals. Shun green bananas. These may ease constipation.
  • Consume a handful of raisins daily. Shun refined foods in your r diet and employ whole-grain cereal.
  • Dried beans are an exceptional sources of fibre.
  • Try a Cup of Coffee, it may ease you from constipation.
  • Eat Sesame Seeds half an ounce daily, and consume plenty of water as you take the seeds. Water is good for your health. Consume water at least eight glasses regularly.
  • Take 2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil daily.

For Babies:                                              

  • Fill the bottle three fourths full. Add one fourth of the prune juice and mix completely. Give this to the baby for relief from constipation.
  • Add one teaspoon of Milk of Magnesia into the baby`s milk bottle.
  • Add one teaspoon of Karo syrup into your breast milk. Give this to the baby for rapid results.
  • Pat the Vaseline on the baby`s bottom. This will aid the stool to come out.

Few Tips to ameliorate the Bowel Irritation:

Lemon: Drinking a glass of warm water with lemon and a pinch of salt in it during the morning not only behaves as a flushing agent for the intestines, but also aids in smooth path of stool.

Triphala powder: It behaves as a splendid laxative. Just add one teaspoon of triphala powder in warm water and a little honey and consume it just once you wake up in the morning in empty stomach. It will show wonders.

Never ignore nature`s call: You should never snub a nature`s call as it is like alluring trouble for future.

Fibre: Eating food rich in fibre can really work wonders. So, it is suggested to start one`s day with food that has huge quantity of fibre like dried beans, prunes, figs and so on. Fibre rich food behaves like a sponge thus averting crams and stomach bloating.
