EC squad seizes liquor, money

The Election Commission on Tuesday seized 4 lakh in unaccounted cash and 0.75kg gold from a vehicle at Pulianthope. Officials said they have seized 37 bottles of foreign liquor from Mylapore.
The commission has also recently seized 32 lakh in unaccounted cash from a vehicle on NSC Bose Road in Broadway. Officials said they would intensify inspections across the city in the days leading up to the election. The district election office has facilitated a toll-free 24-hour number (18004257012) at Ripon Buildings for election related queries and reporting violations of the model code of conduct. On Monday it received 97 queries.
