CMRL to Open 1 Lakh Sq Ft Commercial Hub at Wimco Nagar Depot
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced a major commercial development at the Wimco Nagar Depot Metro Station, offering nearly 1 lakh sq ft of space - set to become one of North Chennai’s largest metro-based commercial hubs.
The space, located on the Blue Line, can host retail outlets, offices, supermarkets, logistics units, food courts, fitness centres, coaching institutes, entertainment zones, and R&D facilities. Licensees may use or sublet the area, providing wide business flexibility.
The commercial space will be leased on a 15-year term, extendable by 5 years, with a reserve price of ₹349 per sqm per month. It will be provided in warm-shell condition with parking and basic utilities.
CMRL has invited tenders as part of its effort to enhance commercial infrastructure and boost non-fare revenue.
