Traffic Diversions Announced for Happy Street Event in Chennais Annanagar on Sundays

In light of the `Happy Street` incident in Chennai`s Annanagar area, traffic diversions are scheduled on four Sundays as announced by the traffic police.
According to a press release, the "HAPPY STREET" event is set to take place on the following Sundays: March 10, 17, 24, and 31, 2024. The event location spans from K4 Anna Nagar Traffic Police Station Boundary Second Road, Bluestar Junction to 2nd Road, and is scheduled to occur from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, extending up to the 3rd Main Road Junction (Nalli Silks). During this time, traffic will be completely blocked and reserved for the aforementioned event.
For commuters heading from Tirumangalam to Annanagar Roundtana Chintamani, a detour is advised. They should make a left turn at the 5th Expressway at Bluestar Junction, then proceed to the 6th Expressway, K4 PS Roundtana, and onwards to the Roundtana, Chintamani.
Those traveling from Thirumangalam towards Nitakarai, E.V.R.A Road are instructed to turn right at Bluestar Junction at the 5th Expressway, and continue to the 4th Expressway en route to Nitakarai Poontamalli Highway.
For vehicles heading from Annanagar Roundabout towards Tirumangalam, a left turn on the 2nd Expressway near Nalli Silks at 3rd Main Road is recommended, leading them to the 4th Expressway towards Tirumangalam.
At Bluestar Junction, motorists are advised to avoid turning left from the 5th Expressway (Jesse Moses School Road) to the 2nd Expressway (towards Annanagar Roundtana). Instead, they should proceed straight on the 5th Expressway and take the 4th Expressway.
These traffic changes will only be in effect during specific times on the designated Sundays. The Chennai Metropolitan Traffic Police Department requests the cooperation of motorists, the public, and residents during this period.
