155370 service - A new launch yesterday from CMRL for metro train travel in Chennai !!

Gone are the days when woman passengers travelling in the metro trains in Chennai worried about their safety. Things have changed now with CMRL having implemented a pink squad, waiting area and signage, separate public toilets etc for the women commuters.
On 8th March International Women`s Day was celebrated is well known to us. Chennai Metro Rail Limited or CMRL took a superb effort yesterday to strengthen women`s safety by launching a helpline number for them.
The helpline number is 155370 is 24/7 service operated for safety of women and it would provide assistance and support to women passengers facing issues when they travel in the metro trains in Chennai. It is learnt that this helpline number provides many services such as emergency response. It must be noted that this number has been activated on the BSNL network and soon the number would be activated on other networks too.
Various other safety measures taken by CMRL especially for women`s safety in the metro trains are provision of women`s coaches, reserved seating, wheelchair accessibility, CCTV surveillance etc. For the sake of women commuters, CMRL also provides facilities like zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment plus CMRL website, job opportunities and well lit pick up and drop off areas etc.
