Metro trains operation between Tambaram and Velachery - Latest details!!

In Chennai for a distance of 54kms, metro trains are being operated in 2 routes is well known to us.
It must be noted that the second phase of the metro rail project is being implemented for 116.1km along 3 routes. The passengers have been demanding the implementation of metro trains to connect places like Tambaram and Velachery in south Chennai. In 2019, a feasibility report was prepared for implementing a light metro rail project along this route. The report was submitted to the TN government. Point is that the CMRL was reluctant due to some practical reasons.
It must be taken into account that for implementing Tambaram- Velachery and Velachery- Guindy metro rail project Systra MVA Consulting India was awarded a contract for conducting the feasibility study.
More passengers will use the metro trains only when additional routes are connected. This was mentioned by some officials belonging to CMRL. They hinted about connecting the suburbs with the metro rail project.
Information collected is that a feasibility report would be prepared for implementation of the metro rail project between Tambaram- Velachery and Velachery-Guindy along the main road. Point is that after this work gets over preparation of DPR would be carried out after the TN govt approves the feasibility report.
