ELECTRIC POWER CONSUMERS - IT IS NOW MANDATORY TO LINK THE ACCOUNT WITH YOUR AADHAR CARD!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has released a Government Order (GO) that it is MANDATORY to link the electricity connection account with Aadhar Card.
As per Aadhar ACT 2016 Section 7, the electricity consumers who get subsidy MUST link their Aadhar Card Details with their power connection details as per the guidelines of the Central Government. Following this, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has released the above GO!
Under this, the power consumers who get their first 100 Units of Power Consumption free, hutment dwellers and agriculturists who get free electricity, power loom weavers who get 750 units of power free and handloom weavers who get 200 units free MUST all link their Aadhar cards!
Note that this link is not MANDATORY for consumers who do not get any subsidy such as industries and organizations who do not get any subsidies!
NOTE:
This order to link Aadhar cards with power connections is mainly to prevent certain maloperations such as those who have many power connections in the same complex and other consumers who indulge in maloperations!
