Sensational that happened at these 4 metro stations in Chennai!!

Many metro train commuters in Chennai have been finding it difficult regarding the last mile connectivity is well known. This piece of information would bring some relief and happiness on the faces of these commuters now.

Now, for improving this last mile connectivity, 12 small feeder buses were flagged off by the chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin yesterday. These small buses of MTC would operate from 4 metro stations in Chennai. As a part of multimodal integration of public transportation in Chennai, twelve small buses would make 148 trips along 6 routes for seamless travel of metro train commuters. To identify these small feeder buses easily, the buses have been painted differently.

It is learnt that steps have been taken to operate small bus services for passengers from other metro stations also. Two small buses (S82) would be operated from Alandur metro station to Madipakkam bus terminus and 2 buses (S82) to Porur. There would be 28 trips on each route.

From airport metro station, 2 buses (S69) would be operated to Kundrathur and 2 small buses (M56) would be operated between Tiruvottriyur metro station and Manali. From Koyambedu CMBT 2 small buses (S60) would operate to Maduravoyal Erikaraiand from CMBT 2 small buses (S51) would operate to Nolambur Shakti Nagar.

It was brought to light by Mr. Rajakannappan, transport minister at the Assembly that as many as144 small buses were not operated due to poor patronage and running them would result in huge loss. It is now said that these buses would be used as feeder buses from the metro stations in Chennai.
