Sabarimalai Lord Ayyappan Temple: Aaraattu Vizha commences with the divine flag-hoisting ceremony!

For the special poojas and prayers to be performed during the Tamil/Malayalam Almanac (calendar) in the month of ‘Panguni’, the temple corridors of the famous Lord Sri Ayyappan Temple in Sabarimalai were opened at 5.00 PM on 14th March.
The temple corridor opening was done by Melsanthi Jayaraj Potri in the presence of Tanthiri Kandararu Rajeevara. Subsequently, the daily routine of the Poojas and Abhishekhams and Padi Poojas for the idol of Lord, Ayyappan was performed in the days after.
As a sequel to the special poojas/prayers to be performed during the Tamil calendar month of Panguni, the festival known as ‘Aarattu Vizha’ commenced today (Friday, 19th March). On this occasion, ‘Suddhikriyai Pooja’ was performed presided by the Thanthiri.
As the inaugural part of the ‘Aaraattu Vizha’, Thanthiri Kandararu Rajeevaru hoisted the divine flag at 7.15 AM today morning (Friday, 19th March). ‘Aaraattu Vizha is scheduled to be performed over a period of 10 daysuntil28th March.
During the festival days, 10000 devotees will be permitted daily in the temple as per the advanced registration completed. Further, the Thiruvithankur Devsthanam Board has announced that ONLY THOSE DEVOTEES WITH CORONA NEGATIVE REPORT AS PER RTPCR TESTS CONDUCTED WILL BE PERMITTED TO HAVE THE DARSHAN OF THE LORD SRI AYYAPPAN.
