In January, north Chennai metro line to be opened

Residents belonging to north Chennai would be able to travel to other places in Chennai soon!!
If everything goes well, then the 9km metro line that would link north Chennai with the heart of Chennai city would be opened in the month of January 2021. The corridors are getting finishing touches now is known.
There are 2 underground stations plus 6 elevated stations present in the line between Washermanpet and Wimco Nagar. It was brought out by an officer belonging to CMRL that the elevated section was almost ready and electrification might take some time.
To check the alignment, diesel locomotives would be operated on the line before the end of the month of December. Later, the metro train would be operated by both manual as well by automatic mode. After completing the trial run, the safety inspectors would be invited. He hinted that the metro line would be opened at the end of January.
