Just as the Chennai Metro City Central Railway Station was named as �Puratchi Thalaivar Doctor M G Balachandran Central Station�, the Chennai Metro Central Railway station is named as �Puratchi Thalaivar Doctor M G Ramachandran Chennai Metro Station�.
As the largest Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) in Asia and the Chennai Metro Railway Station located here were inaugurated with blessings by the �Maanbu Migu Puratchi Thalaivi Amma�, and the various actions initiated by the former Chief Minister Maanbu Migu Amma, this railway station located in CMBT is renamed as �Puratchi Thalaivi Doctor Jayalalithaa CMBT Metro Station�.
