UGC introduces a new faculty for Ph. D. Students!

The University Grants Commission has introduced a new faculty for the Research students doing Ph. D. course. The notification released in this regard by UGC mentions:
‘UGC’s 543rd Survey/analytical meeting was conducted during last August. During this meeting, a decision was taken to introduce on a mandatory basis, a new faculty for the Ph. D. students in order to create awareness among them and also to prevent maloperations: ‘The proper procedure for researches and the associated publishing’.
Thus, henceforth, the Ph. D. Students MUST pass the in the above subject: ‘The proper procedure for researches and the associated publishing’ during the 6-month apprenticeship session for their research work. Only on passing, the students will be allowed to pursue the next phase of their research work.
All universities are advised to implement this procedure and follow.’
Other students/teachers who pursue research-oriented courses such as M. Phil can study this faculty on their own preference. The additional information regarding this can be accessed on the official website of the UGC.
