Student life is very important and going to the schools must not be a burden for the students.

The students studying in the schools in Chennai have been facing huge workload regarding homework or assignments are well known.

The latest news is Chennai city schools are adopting a new approach to this homework to reduce their workloads by giving them fun based projects or sometimes no homework at all.

The children lose interest in studies when they are burdened with home works. This was according to some educators. It was brought out by Mr. Mick Pursell, head, KC High international, that going to school was all about learning and it should be fun and not a burden. He threw light about the students of his school and spoke about how they leave their books in the cupboard and carry only those books they want to their homes. He added that the students do not do any written homework but just occasional projects like making bubbles or educational videos on trees etc.

The superb information collected is schools like PS Senior Secondary School, SAN Academy, Vaels International etc have put restrictions on the amount of homework given to the students.

As per PS Senior Secondary School principal, Mrs. Revathy Parameshwaran, the students could finish their assignments in the school and could take home those assignments that needed more attention. She spoke about how her school does not overload the students with home works/ assignments and how the students could take home the books they need. She expressed her opinion that burdening the school children with home works or assignments would not serve any purpose.

Principal of Vael’s International spoke about how different days were assigned for each subject like Monday for science etc and when there was no home work for the day’s subject the children go to their homes without any assignment.
