In the last few days in some localities belonging to the Chennai, there have been just traces of rainfall. The latest news is on Wednesday, 18th September, Chennai city might get some rains because of the upper air circulation close to the north TN coast.

It has been pointed out by some weathermen that rapidly moving winds hovering over Bay of Bengal extending from north TN to south AP might move towards land and this might bring some rains in some parts of Chennai.

Mr. Puviarasan, director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Chennai explained about the upper air circulation present at an altitude of around 7.6 km. He then added that this upper air circulation might move towards land and it might bring rains on Wednesday. It is important to mention here that over the Indian region the upper air circulation mostly has a westerly flow.

In the next 48 hours of time, some parts of Chennai might receive light to moderate rains and this was as per the prediction made by the regional meteorological department. The sky is likely to be cloudy and the maximum temperature is likely to be around 34 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 25 degrees Celsius. It is now said that the residents in the core places in Chennai city would feel relieved by this rain.

The weather station at Nungambakkam recorded 3.7 mm rainfall and in Meenambakkam there was 0.6 mm rain and this was till 5:30 pm in the evening on Tuesday. The weather experts mentioned that there are bleak chances of upper air circulation getting intensified into low pressure as it might move towards land. The important point to be noted is the upper air circulation has to hover over the sea to get strength and then intensify further to bring rainfall.
